Abstract:
A novel transformer-less switched-capacitor based multilevel inverter is proposed in this paper. At present, transformer-less inverters (TI) tremendously used due to their compact size, high efficiency and economical. The proposed topology is common-ground-type which leads to zero leakage current by direct electric connection between the grid neutral and negative terminal of dc bus. The proposed inverter has the capability of natural-voltage balancing of switched capacitor, hence no need of dedicated control scheme or sensors to maintain or regulate the voltage. A pulse width modulation scheme is demonstrated in detailed based on logic-gate. The performance of the presented inverter is confirmed through simulation and (a) experimental verification. Furthermore, a detailed comparison against existing topologies which shows the benefits and feasibility of the proposed inverter is presented.
