Abstract:
This paper proposes a novel handover procedure in an outdoor Vehicle to Infrastructure Visible Light Communication (V2IVLC) system. In V2IVLC system, vehicles moving in the street communicate with groups of LED street lights using cameras. The handover procedure proposed in this work would help to vehicles transferring the communication from one LED group to another. Through simulation, the practicality of the proposed handover is confirmed and the relationship between speed of a car and the useful time that is used for transmitting end user data is analyzed.
